It’s do or die time for the Bills. It is a must win today in Oakland. A win would be huge, but some help would be nice as well. Sitting at 8-6 the Bills need to win out if they want a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in 14 seasons. Traveling cross country is always a challenge, but the defense is strong enough to keep the offense in the game and win it by themselves. CJ Spiller is active for the first time since week 7 when he broke his collarbone against the Vikings.
With Spiller returning, lets hope that provides a spark to this offense. The running game has not been terrible, but it hasn’t been spectacular and adding an offensive weapon like Spiller should help. Plus, CJ is playing for the other 31 teams in the NFL as he is a free agent after the season and will most likely not return to Buffalo. To be honest, Orton has not played that bad. For being signed in training camp, he has adjusted well to the offense. Sure he may hang on to the ball to long sometimes, but he is not making poor decisions.
The Bills defense will win this game. Not sure how many points they will put up or force, but going up against a rookie in Derek Carr who likes to throw the ball around, this defense should be flying and adding more sacks to the season total. The defense has already accounted for 49 sacks, which is 14 more than the Bills offensive line has given up. Looks for Mario Williams and Jerry Hughes to have a big impact.
For those from Buffalo, it will be pretty cool to see former University at Buffalo great Khalil Mack lining up for the Raiders on defense. The rookie has recorded 68 tackles, 3 sacks, and one forced fumble.
The Bills are a -6 point favorite this afternoon, and look for them to cover that pretty easily. Dan Carpenter will be making plenty of field goals and extra points.
